About Shell LiveWIRE

Shell LiveWIRE is Shell’s global flagship social investment Enterprise Development programme, with a vision to strengthen local economies by promoting entrepreneurship, innovation and meaningful employment. Since inception in Scotland in 1982, the programme is facilitated in over 15 countries and supports thousands of entrepreneurs willing to transition their bright ideas into sustainable businesses.

This year, Cohort 3 will be facilitated virtually, fostering business growth at both a personal and business level through captivating Master classes, Business Coaching and Growth Development Consultancy streams. This programme runs from April 2021 to December 2021.

Requirements for Successful Entry

  • Ability to designate team members, able to attend sessions and/or other activities if you can’t attend.
  • Lead Team Member must be between the ages of 18 -45 years.
  • Operating your business for at least two years with a paying customer base.
  • Embody coachability, adaptability, commitment, demonstrated drive and possess a spirit of innovation.
  • Exhibit growth potential in line within at least one of the following areas:
    • Business Capacity
    • Exporting
    • Increase Staffing

During the 9-month period, we work directly with growing businesses, to provide the support needed to expand, and develop your business and your entrepreneurial mindset, through:

  • Coaching to identify areas for growth and improvement and co-develop an action plan towards success
  • Master Classes designed to develop their business and leadership skills from industry experts and experienced entrepreneurs
  • Partner and Investor Preparation (Pitch Development)
  • Business consultation in one of three streams – Export Readiness, Financial Audit and Advisory and Branding &, Packaging Solutions.
  • A Demo & Pitch Day event

Our Selection process

Our selection process has been designed to select for the companies with the biggest growth potential. We select businesses belong in any of the key economic sectors and have the potential to grow through increased staffing, increase in profit, improved production capacity and export of a product or service. Above all, entrepreneurs must be adaptable, coachable and eager to learn.

During each phase of the application process, we will filter successful applicants, towards the final goal of being selected for the Shell LiveWIRE Programme. At the close of each phase, we typically take about a week to review and process applications.

Phase 1 – Submission of Detailed Application Form.
We screen for alignment to the sectors and business operations, business growth potential and illustrated examples of your suitability to the programme.

Deadline: March 21st, 2021

Phase 2 – Screening Interviews

Successful applicants from Phase 1, would be invited to an online screening interview comprising Shell and Programme personnel. Candidates who are filtered out at this stage would be encouraged to apply to other YBTT entrepreneur support programmes.
