GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP WEEK is the world’s largest celebration of innovators and job creators who launch start-ups, bring ideas to life, drive economic growth, and expand human welfare. During one exciting week each November, individuals are inspired by local, regional, and international entrepreneurial activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators.
Celebrated in more than 200 countries, including Trinidad and Tobago, YBTT has been the proud local host of GEW for the past 16 years. This year’s official celebrations took place from November 18 to 24, 2024, uniting stakeholders and inspiring action across various sectors.
What is the Global Entrepreneurship Network?
The Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) powers a platform of projects and programs in 170 countries, making it easier for anyone, anywhere to start and scale a business. By fostering deeper cross-border collaboration among entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, policymakers, and entrepreneurial support organizations, GEN fuels healthier ecosystems for start-ups to thrive.
This approach generates more jobs, accelerates innovation, and strengthens economic growth, while ensuring a more equitable global entrepreneurial landscape.

The 2024 GEW Theme:
“Entrepreneurship is for Everyone”
This year’s theme, “Entrepreneurship is for Everyone,” reflects the inclusive nature of entrepreneurship and its transformative potential to change lives, regardless of background, geography, or industry.
In Trinidad and Tobago, entrepreneurship has long been a cornerstone of economic empowerment, unlocking the potential of our diverse and talented population. Across our islands, entrepreneurial spirit flourishes in sectors such as agriculture, creative industries, manufacturing, and digital services, making it a driving force for both local and global innovation.
Whether it’s addressing local challenges through sustainable solutions or building global competitiveness, entrepreneurship paves the way for innovation, inclusion, and resilience. From young innovators in schools to seasoned professionals venturing into new opportunities, entrepreneurship offers a path for everyone.
Through initiatives like GEW, YBTT and its partners are committed to nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs, building support systems, and creating an ecosystem where no one is left behind. Together, we’re making strides toward a future where entrepreneurship is accessible to all, creating economic growth and equity for all communities.
This year, we stand as part of a global movement to ensure that entrepreneurship truly is for everyone.
