“My passion for baking started at a very young age whilst looking on at my Mom and it’s from there it all began” said Ulani Fletcher, Founder and Managing Director of Caribbean Craze. Ulani’s passion transcended into the tertiary space “whilst studying Business Administration and Marketing at the University of the Southern Caribbean, I was seeking a pathway to enter into the entrepreneurial ecosystem, but I needed a business idea with a stronger than average appeal.”
Research also played a critical role in Ulani’s decision “whilst conducting research, I found Cookie Cups which are shaped like a cup in which you can pour a drink or enjoy ice-cream.” Caribbean Craze was registered in 2017 and operations began in 2018.

Ulani’s thirst for learning new techniques to improve her business was the major factor that influenced her entry into the Shell LiveWIRE programme. As she puts it “I needed to gain more experience and knowledge to improve my business strategies and the Shell LiveWIRE programme was ideal in satisfying those needs.”
Reminiscing on the important learnings and takeaways “Shell LiveWIRE programme taught me how to adapt to different situations; in fact, I’m now able to look at my business from a renewed perspective.” The coaching sessions also came in for high acclaim which she said “infused greater confidence and people-centred skills both at a personal and professional level.”

Moving Beyond!
Elevating her business to the next level is a front-burner item for Ulani – “I’m in the process of developing a website; however my major goal at this time is seeking shelf life for my products and so I’m at present in conversations with CARIRI.” Within the next two (2) years Ulani foresees Caribbean Craze sitting solidly in the retail space.
